Check Remote connectivity [via satellite modem IPX-3200] -In the two days since the dish has been installed, … I have needed to ‘re-connect’ / investigate / trouble-shoot this connection a number of times – the problem is not really ‘a serious problem’ – rather more like a nuisance problem, … potentially related to the nature of satellite connectivity, … [Connection plan 512/256k]

NOTE; – the thinkvantage-tools (access-connections) will tell me, ‘connected’ – (obviously this tool is not informed by the browser status)

CHECK LACK (Or otherwise) CONNECTIVITY IN ANOTHER BROWSER; –
In this case – Internet Explorer 7 – [Ver-7.0.6001.18000]

PROBLEM: --!Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
* You are not connected to the Internet.
* The website is encountering problems
* There might be a typing error in the address.

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:
* Internet connectivity has been lost.
* The website is temporarily unavailable.
* The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable
* The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
* If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, 
click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled 
under the security section.

Firefox – [Version 3.6.16] – (Says the following when unable to connect)

!The connection has timed out

*   The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.

*   If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.

*   If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

THE SIMPLEST FIX: -(assuming nothing has changed since being connected previously) – Using the ‘Thankvantage-TOOL’, … Access-Connections

FIRST; – Left-Click the ‘Access-Connections’ system-tray icon –

Using the Thinkvantage “Access Connections” – Disconnect then Connect

 * Disconnect / Connect *

~ Disconnect / Connect ~

OTHER FIXs

#1: – You might like to clear the browser cache if the procedure (above) has not fixed the problem, [Tools | Options | Privacy-TAB { clear your recent history }]

#2: – Restart the browser / install / try other browsers, …

#3: – Restart the computer, … (re-check the connection again)
