SENARIO: The plugin called ‘Stat-Counter’ (Which I find useful) – but would like to learn MORE, about!
PROBLEM: It was displaying the counter TWICE, at the bottom of the index.php (Front-Page of the _wp-blog)
There has been a LOT of ‘water-go-under-the-bridge’, recently and I wont try to explain ALL that happens.
ACTIVITY: Disabled the stat-counter plugin, to see what effect that might have, with the following results.
RESULT: Only ONE counter is now showing, at the bottom of the main page. (Happy now! 🙂
CONCLUSION: The code provided by the stat-counter website, (which is pasted into index.php) – over-rides the plugin.
IMAGE: Disabled stat-counter;
[UPDATED; 8:15pm 23 Feb 2010] I have RE-Enabled the plugin, and CUT, all the stat-counter-code from index.php – as it is NOT working in the current configuration. IF stat-counter causes me to much grief, it will be removed completly, and Ill will try a different plugin / solution to monitoring traffic.
